Description

As the STA Moving Forward 10-year plan to maintain, improve and expand public transit throughout the region becomes reality, additional space to service and store fleet vehicles is needed. The Boone Northwest Garage will not only accommodate vehicles, but also electric vehicle charging infrastructure and a vehicle washer. Vehicles to be serviced in the garage will include the fleet for the Central City Line (a six-mile bus rapid transit line that will run from Browne’s Addition to Spokane Community College, via Downtown Spokane and the University District) opening in 2021, and the Monroe Regal high performance line, scheduled for service in 2019. Estimates indicate the garage can accommodate ten 60-foot articulated coaches, six 40-foot coaches, and 22 paratransit cut-away vans. A 20,000 gallon underground fuel facility will also be installed as part of this project.
